Attorney Profile - Beau R. Layfield
Baton Rouge Injury Attorney
Beau Richard Layfield received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Louisiana State University. As an undergraduate, Beau had the opportunity to study in San Ramon, Costa Rica through the University of New Orleans. He received his Juris Doctor and Bachelor of Civil Law degrees from the Paul M. Hebert Law Center of Louisiana State University. Beau also attended St. Thomas University School of Law in Miami, Florida, where he completed an internship with the Dade County District Attorney's office. He is licensed to practice law in Louisiana.
Prior to establishing The Layfield Law Firm, LLC, Beau was employed as an attorney at a general practice law firm. During his tenure, he focused on helping accident victims suffering from personal injuries and assisting individuals in family law cases among other matters. This experience allowed him to gain valuable knowledge and gave him a broad understanding of general civil litigation, business matters, municipal law and construction litigation.
Beau was born in Mansura, Louisiana, the son of an elementary school teacher and a banker. At a very young age, Beau experienced the death of his uncle as a result of a car accident. In the car accident, Beau's uncle was a rear seat passenger and was thrown from the vehicle. By the time his uncle reached the emergency room, he had to be resuscitated by an emergency room physician. Beau was present in the waiting room when the doctor explained that his uncle had experienced severe head trauma and normal brain function had ceased due to the accident. Ultimately his uncle died. Beau remembers the great effect this tragedy had on his family and the terrible chaotic feeling of not being able to help or console all those affected.
"Beau's uncle was a rear seat passenger and was thrown from the vehicle...Ultimately his uncle died. Beau remembers the great effect this tragedy had on his family..."
This experience churned inside Beau and remains with him today. Driven by this experience, Beau focuses a great portion of his practice on helping the victims of personal injury accidents. Beau understands the hopelessness that can ensue after a traumatic event and is relentless in his efforts to help victims of all types of personal injury causing accidents.
Beau graduated from Avoyelles High School in Moreauville, Louisiana and spent 18-years in Louisiana before heading to Baton Rouge to obtain his undergraduate degree from LSU. Beau feels that living in different areas of the state has helped him develop close relationships with people from varying backgrounds and his ability to communicate effectively has greatly contributed to his professional success.
Beau strongly believes that winning cases goes hand-in-hand with excellent client communication and strives to create an atmosphere where each client has personal communication and direct access to him. This one-on-one, personalized approach is not really possible in a large firm setting. The small firm environment of The Layfield Law Firm, LLC allows Beau the opportunity to achieve this goal.
In his spare time, Beau loves to cook, hunt, and watch LSU Football. He's an instrument rated pilot and has traveled extensively throughout the South by single-engine airplane. Being a pilot is beneficial to Beau's law practice as he is able to cover a greater area of the state with ease. Additionally, Beau has been fortunate to offer assistance after disasters such as Hurricane's Katrina and Rita by inspecting damage to property while regular public access was denied.
